手ぬぐい「たばこぼん」 原画作家：高橋宏光
歌舞伎の道具を熟練の職人が注染てぬぐいに染め上げました。合羽摺版画家・高橋宏光による原画シリーズです。
煙草の灰を落とす「莨盆」、煙草を吸う「煙管」、煙草を入れる「莨入」、薬を入れる「印籠」。いずれも江戸時代の人々の必需品で、それぞれ意匠に凝り伊達を競いました。歌舞伎の舞台でも、重要な役割を果たすことが多い大事な小道具です。身近な道具にこそ深くこだわり、宿る粋。江戸の人々の美意識が感じられます。

Tenugui “Kabuki -Tabacco Tray”
Kabuki implements are carefully dyed into Chusen Tenugui by skilled craftsmen, featuring original designs by Hiromitsu Takahashi, a kappazuri print (one of the coloring methods used in ukiyoe) artist.
The series includes traditional items such as the “tobacco tray” for removing ash, the “smoking pipe” for enjoying tobacco, the “tobacco container” for storage, and the “Inro” for holding medicine. These were essential tools for people during the Edo period, each intricately designed and often showcasing their owners’ sense of style. They are also important props that frequently play a significant role on the Kabuki stage. The attention to detail and the aesthetic sensibilities of Edo-era people are vividly reflected in these everyday objects.
