2025年干支手ぬぐい「巳と梅紋」 原画作家：小山田里美
かわいらしい蛇の模様と梅紋を描いた2025年巳年をお祝いする干支手ぬぐいです。熟練の職人が注染で染め上げました。イラストレーター・小山田里美による原画作品シリーズです。
初日の出と共に一年の福を招くために家々を訪れる年神さま。十二支の動物はその年の神様の遣いとされ、年神さまをお迎えするために干支の動物を飾る風習があります。2025年の干支「へび」は復活と再生の象徴で新しいことが始まる象徴とされています。
特に白蛇は、財運や知恵、芸術を司る弁財天さま（七福神の一柱）のお使いとして、学問や技芸の上達、商売繁盛などのご利益があるとされ、白蛇を祀る神社も多くあります。また、「蛇の皮を財布に入れておくとお金が貯まる」とも言われるように、金運の象徴としても知られています。永続的な幸運や財運を表すとぐろを巻く白蛇と、春の訪れを知らせる喜びとされている梅を描いた大変縁起の良い絵柄です。

Tenugui “Japanese Zodiac – Serpent & Plum pattern”
This Eto (Japanese zodiac) Tenugui celebrates the Year of the Snake in 2025, featuring a charming coiled snake motif alongside plum blossom patterns. It has been dyed using the traditional Chusen technique by skilled artisans. The design is part of an original series by illustrator Satomi Oyamada.
Each year, the Toshigami (New Year deity) visits households with the first sunrise of the year, bringing blessings for the coming year. The animals of the twelve zodiac signs are believed to be messengers of the Toshigami, and there is a custom of decorating with the animal of the year to welcome the deity.
