アートフレームセット「絵てぬぐい 鯉のぼりの家族」
アートフレームと絵てぬぐいのギフトセットです。
アートフレームは当店で開発した特許商品。マグネット式の上下2本のフレームに挟んで吊るすだけで、簡単に手ぬぐいをタペストリーとして飾れます。フレームの表面は桜の蒔絵、裏面は無地なので、インテリアにあわせて表側も裏側もお使いいただけます。
セットされている手ぬぐいは、注染という伝統の技で熟練の職人が染めました。手染めによる鮮やかな染め色と粋な風合いが日本の文化を伝えます。
◆絵てぬぐい「鯉のぼりの家族」◆
さわやかな五月晴れの空を楽しそうに泳いでいる鯉のぼりの家族。吹き流しや鯉のぼりの尾は注染ならではのぼかしの技で染め上げました。
江戸時代に将軍家で始まった端午の節句。男の子が生まれると幟や吹き流しを掲げ、誕生をお祝いしました。その風習が武家や庶民に広まりました。当初は真鯉だけで、緋鯉が加わったのは明治以降。男子の節句が「子どもの日」となった現在は、青や緑、黄色などカラフルな鯉のぼりを泳がす家庭も多いようです。
中国の神話や伝説では「竜門」という滝を登り切った鯉は竜になるといわれ、日本では立身出世の象徴とされました。鯉は生命力があり、どんな環境でも育つことから、こいのぼりには我が子も強く立派に出世するようにという願いが込められています。

Art Frame Set “Tenugui: Family of carp streamer”
This gift set includes an art frame and a hand-dyed Tenugui, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
The Art Frame is a patented product developed in-house, featuring two magnetic frames that easily hold the Tenugui like a tapestry. Simply sandwich the fabric between the two magnetic frames and hang it up. The front of the frame features a delicate sakura (cherry blossom) maki-e design, while the back is plain, allowing you to switch it up to match your interior style.
The Tenugui is dyed using the traditional Chusen technique by skilled artisans, with vibrant colors and a refined texture that showcase the beauty of Japanese craftsmanship.
Tenugui: Family of carp streamer
This Tenugui features a joyful family of koinobori (carp streamers) swimming gracefully in the clear May sky. The flowing windsocks and carp tails are beautifully dyed using the chusen technique, creating a soft gradation effect that enhances their movement and vibrancy.
The celebration of Tango no Sekku (Boys’ Festival) began during the Edo period, originally as a tradition within the shogun’s family. When a boy was born, banners and streamers were raised to mark the occasion and pray for his healthy growth. Over time, this custom spread among samurai families and eventually became popular among commoners.
Initially, only black carp (magoi) were displayed, but red carp (higoi) were added in the Meiji era. Today, as Children’s Day (Kodomo no Hi) is celebrated in Japan, many households display colorful koinobori in shades of blue, green, and yellow, symbolizing joy and growth.
In Chinese mythology, it is said that a carp that successfully swims up the “Dragon Gate” waterfall transforms into a dragon. This legend became a symbol of success and ambition, and in Japan, the carp represents strength, perseverance, and prosperity. Because carp are known for their resilience, able to thrive in any environment, koinobori are flown with the heartfelt wish for children to grow strong and achieve great success in life.
